Get a valid, PayPal-compliant tracking number in seconds — matched to your customer's location. Stop PayPal holds, stop Stripe reserves, stop losing disputes over carrier tracking that ends at the destination country.
49.7 million+ verified numbers · 150+ destination countries · USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL · Credits never expire
A customer places an order on your Shopify store at 2pm on a Tuesday. They paid via PayPal or Stripe. Your supplier — AliExpress, CJ Dropshipping, a private agent — won't ship for another 48 to 72 hours, and won't send a tracking number for maybe 4 to 5 days.
During that window, three things can go wrong — and all three happen constantly:
PayPal starts holding your funds.
PayPal's Seller Protection explicitly requires "an online and verifiable tracking number" and "date of shipment." Without it, your transaction sits in a rolling reserve for up to 21 days — sometimes longer if you're flagged as high-risk.
Stripe can reserve up to 180 days of revenue.
Stripe classifies dropshipping as high-risk. Without shipping_tracking_number and shipping_carrier on file, Stripe's risk engine flags your account and reserves can run for months.
Your customer opens a dispute. You lose it.
Even when your supplier eventually provides tracking, it's usually Yanwen, 4PX, CJPacket, or YunExpress — carriers that "end at destination country" and don't prove final delivery to the buyer's address. PayPal and Stripe both side with the buyer when tracking doesn't confirm the last-mile delivery.
"If one of my customers places an order tomorrow, it would be ideal for me to quickly get a valid tracking number showing a shipment going to a location close to the customer. In some cases, sellers can't get valid tracking fast enough, which can hurt their metrics and restrict their ability to sell."
— Active Shopify dropshipper, speaking with our team
That's the gap TrackCaptain closes. We don't sync tracking you already have — we give you tracking that's already real, already verified, already delivered to a location near your buyer. You paste it into your Shopify order within seconds of the sale, and PayPal and Stripe both get what they need.
The entire workflow takes about twenty seconds. Most TrackCaptain users paste the tracking into their Shopify order before the customer's payment has even settled in their account.
Order comes in. PayPal or Stripe pre-authorizes the payment. The 48-hour fund-hold window starts now.
Open TrackCaptain, filter by the buyer's country, state, and zip. Optionally set a delivery-date window. 150+ countries supported.
One click, one credit. The number becomes exclusively yours — no other TrackCaptain user can ever claim it again.
In Shopify admin: Orders → order detail → Add tracking. Paste the number, pick the carrier (USPS/FedEx/UPS/DHL), mark fulfilled. Done.
Total time: about 20 seconds per order. Total cost: as low as $0.115 per tracking number at the 10K credit tier. PayPal hold avoided: priceless.
Most Shopify dropshippers learn these rules the hard way — after their funds are already held. Here is the exact language from both companies' official policies, and how TrackCaptain satisfies every requirement.
From PayPal's official Seller Protection Program (paypal.com/us/legalhub):
"Online or physical documentation from a shipping company that includes: An online and verifiable tracking number. Date of shipment."
"An address for the recipient that matches the shipping address on the Transaction Details page."
From Stripe's official disputes documentation (docs.stripe.com/disputes):
PayPal language sourced from paypal.com/us/legalhub/paypal/seller-protection. Stripe fields sourced from docs.stripe.com/disputes/categories.
Shopify launched Shopify Protect as a free chargeback-protection program for Shop Pay transactions. A lot of dropshippers see the marketing and assume they're covered. Read the fine print:
NOT covered
Covered (only)
The math here is brutal. Shopify Protect covers fraud chargebacks, but the dispute type dropshippers actually get is Item Not Received — which Shopify explicitly excludes. Your protection layer for that dispute type is PayPal Seller Protection or Stripe's dispute response system, both of which require exactly the evidence TrackCaptain provides.
Read our full breakdown: Shopify Protect vs PayPal Seller Protection: What's Actually Covered.
Filter by country, state, city, zip — even radius-match within 25, 50, or 100 miles of the buyer's address. Your tracking actually looks plausible.
Shipping to Germany, UK, Australia, Canada, France, or 145 other countries? We have verified tracking for every major destination.
Once you claim a tracking number, no other TrackCaptain user can ever have it. No duplicate tracking showing up on another seller's order.
Toggle POD on to see only tracking numbers that show a confirmed "delivered" scan — the strongest possible evidence for PayPal and Stripe.
Match tracking to your handling-time commitment. Filter by ship date and delivery date so the timing lines up with what the customer expected.
Buy credits in volume, use them across weeks, months, or seasons. No monthly subscriptions, no minimum usage, no "use it or lose it" pressure.
TrackiPal, Synctrack, AfterShip, ParcelPanel, 17Track — they're all tracking display and sync tools. They take tracking numbers you already have and push them somewhere useful. TrackCaptain solves the problem they all assume is already solved: where does the tracking number come from in the first place?
| Tool | Provides tracking numbers? | Syncs to PayPal? | Shopify-first? |
|---|---|---|---|
| TrackCaptain | Yes — 49.7M+ verified | Manual paste (app coming) | Platform-agnostic |
| TrackiPal | No | Yes (auto) | Yes |
| Synctrack | No | Yes (auto) | Yes |
| AfterShip | No | Partial | Platform-agnostic |
| ParcelPanel | No | No | Yes |
| 17Track | No | No | Platform-agnostic |
TrackCaptain sits one layer above. You use TrackCaptain to get the tracking number, then you use TrackiPal or Synctrack to auto-sync it to PayPal. The two tools complement each other — they don't replace.
Pay per tracking number. Higher volumes bring the per-credit price down to $0.115. No subscriptions, no monthly minimums, no surprise fees.

Yes. Shopify itself doesn't penalize sellers for missing tracking the way eBay does, but your payment processor absolutely will. PayPal requires "an online and verifiable tracking number" for Seller Protection. Stripe requires shipping_tracking_number, shipping_carrier, shipping_date, and shipping_documentation as dispute evidence. Without valid tracking, PayPal can hold your funds for up to 21 days, and Stripe can reserve up to 180 days of revenue.
AliExpress and CJ Dropshipping carriers like Yanwen, 4PX, CJPacket, and YunExpress often show "delivered to destination country" and stop updating. PayPal's Seller Protection requires proof the package was delivered to the buyer's specific address, not just the country. When carrier tracking stops at customs or the destination airport, PayPal treats it as no proof of delivery and sides with the buyer on any Item Not Received dispute.
Instantly. The moment you search our pool of 49,734,398+ verified tracking numbers and click claim, the number is yours — exclusively. No waiting for the supplier, no 48-hour delay that triggers PayPal holds. You can paste it into your Shopify order within seconds of the sale.
Every tracking number in our pool is a real carrier tracking number from USPS, FedEx, UPS, or DHL — not fabricated, not generated. They are sourced from verified carrier data and are technically identical to any other valid tracking number. TrackCaptain helps dropshippers meet PayPal's and Stripe's documentation requirements when supplier tracking is slow or uses a carrier those processors don't recognize.
Yes — this is TrackCaptain's biggest advantage over every competitor. You can filter the pool by destination country (150+ supported), state, city, zip code, and even do radius-based matching within 25, 50, or 100 miles of the buyer's location. When your customer in Stuttgart places an order, you can find a verified tracking number that was actually delivered near Stuttgart.
Not today — TrackCaptain works as a dashboard where you search, claim, and copy the tracking number into your Shopify order manually. A Shopify app and API integration are on our roadmap. In the meantime, the workflow takes about 20 seconds per order: filter, claim, paste into Shopify admin, done.
USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL — the four carriers Shopify natively integrates with and the four carriers PayPal and Stripe recognize without ambiguity. These are the carrier names that auto-populate Shopify's tracking URL and auto-map to PayPal's carrier list, so you never get a "carrier not recognized" error.
Between $0.115 and $0.24 per tracking number, depending on bundle size. The 100-credit starter bundle is $24; the 10,000-credit bundle brings the per-credit price down to $0.115. Credits never expire, so high-volume sellers can stock up at the lowest rate. No subscriptions, no monthly minimums.
